FUNCTION 

The Assessment Specialist conducts standardized assessments for homeless men to identify housing barriers and determine the level of service needed.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

The position requires a Bachelors’ Degree and one year relevant work experience or an Associates’ Degree or 60 college credits and three years relevant work experience.



PRINICIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES


  1. Provide standardized assessments to individuals who have entered the shelter

  2. Obtain household verification and background checks as required

  3. Assess client’s housing and services need

  4. Identify immediate housing placement opportunities for clients

  5. Collaborate with area providers to coordinate necessary services

  6. Make referrals to case management, housing search support and other services as appropriate

  7. Perform related tasks as needed
