Job Description

FUNCTION

Develop, implement and evaluate an Individual Educational Plan for each student; plans for and delivers curriculum in classroom.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum an Associate ’s degree in Social Science, Applied Health Science or Human
Services and at least two years teaching or childcare experience with a similar population.



PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1.  Manage instructional environment in a manner that fosters learning and growth.

2.  Instruct childcare assistants.

3.  Direct classroom activities on a daily basis.

4.  Evaluate student progress on an ongoing basis, maintaining necessary records.

5.  Write annual goals, behavioral objectives, and intervention strategies for students.

6.  Prepare daily activity schedule and coordinate with other disciplines.

7.  Assess developmental functioning and learning skills of students in all areas, at regularly planned intervals.

8.  Consult and interface with colleagues on team on all phases of student program.

9.  Make parent contacts, provide for transition of instruction to home, and assure parent partnership, make home visits and invite parents for school visits.

10.  Maintain daily lesson plan book which displays instruction in all content areas.
