Volunteers of America, Inc. The largest of the affiliates, Volunteers of America-Greater New York (VOA-GNY) serves tens of thousands of men, women, and children in need every year, through 80 programs staffed by 1,300 skilled and dedicated staff, throughout New York City, Westchester County and Northern New Jersey.

VOA-GNY’s life-changing, often life-saving work impacts the lives of individuals and families who are homeless and those at risk of homelessness, families recovering from domestic violence, children with developmental delays, individuals living with HIV/AIDS or behavioral health issues, older adults and veterans struggling to reintegrate. Bachelor’s Degree require 2 years’ experience in community linkage services.  Must be able to work well independently.  Must be organized, detail-oriented, and responsive to work deadlines. Must be flexible due to the Program is residential in nature and requires 24-hour coverage. 


  1.  Complete intake assessments and client orientation.
  2. Ensure the quality and satisfaction of linkages within the community.

  3. Provide opportunities for corporations and community groups to support Volunteers of America and conduct presentations on Volunteers of America to these groups.

  4. Link clients to community resources. 

  5. Design and facilitate client groups & workshops.

  6. Assist in provision of direct care services and administrative support to program.

  7. Provide aftercare to assigned clients who have been placed/discharged from the facility.

  8. Perform other related tasks as assigned.



  1. Ensure client acclamation to the program and services. 

  2. Create and maintain positive longstanding relationships with linkages.

  3. Market and seek support from the community for our program.

  4. Clients are provided intensive engagement and outreach services in the community, building rapport and receptivity to services while building strong community relationships.

  5. Clients will receive therapeutic techniques, gain community resource contacts, and are able to receive and exchange valuable experience and ideas with relationship building in a structured setting.

  6. Client will receive personal essentials, maintain client property log and roosters pertaining to the client.   

  7. The outcomes/results for the client and the program will be successful; reduced recidivism rate.

  8. Related duties are performed completely, accurately and on time.
