The Sector Director of Behavioral Health Housing is responsible for the overall clinical, programmatic and administrative leadership of our Behavioral Health Residential Programs. Our Housing Programs serve Transition Age Youth (TAY) and adults who have a history of mental health issues and homelessness. S/he will be responsible for providing supervision to the Program Directors ensuring quality service provision, program adherence, crisis management and clinical consultation. In collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, the Sector Director will ensure the highest standards of practice including following the Office of Mental Health (OMH) 595 regulations, best practices as well as ensuring the fiscal viability of the programs.

In addition, S/he will establish and maintain relationships with the community, government representatives and service providers enhancing linkages for our residents. S/he will ensure quality services are delivered in accordance with Volunteers of America-GNY standards as well as regulatory guidelines.

The Sector Director is an essential member of the Senior Management team who will also assist in grant writing to expand service opportunities. 

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

The position requires a minimum of an LMSW, however a LCSW is preferred with a minimum of five years of related experience; three years to include supervisory experience in a residential setting.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Manage programs for quality, consistency and accountability.
2. Promote a culture of high performance and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI).
3. Ensure all internal and external regulatory requirements are met.
4. Manage program personnel including supervision, training and the development of talent.
5. Participate in the recruitment process.
6. Manage incident reporting.
